The playing surface shall be uniformly dark colored and matt with a white side line, 2 cm wide, along each 2.74 m edge and a white end line, 2 cm wide, along each 1.525 cm edge. The playing surface is divided into 2 equal courts by a vertical net running parallel with the end lines and is 1.525 cm wide. Both courts should be one-piece. For doubles, each court shall be divided into 2 equal half-courts by a 3-mm wide white center line, running parallel with the side lines. For both courts, the center line is accepted as a part of the right half-court.

In doubles, the server makes a good service, the receiver then makes a good return.
